The Fish Eye 2004 Merlot is quickly becoming a house wine. It’s a very flavorful, medium bodied wine. Tannins are noticeable and provide a slight chewiness but nothing like you might find in a garnacha.
There is a nice balance of sweet to tart. Notes of cherry come through as well. This was a very satisfying wine. The pricepoint was $6 so it falls nicely within my usual wine budget. Fish Eye Merlot is a great accessible merlot to have during the week.
