After the initial success trying the Thorny Rose Cabernet Sauvignon, we gave the Sauvignon Blanc a try. Note that the brand itself is based in Washington State, however, the grapes for their Sauvignon Blanc are grown in New Zealand hence “New Zealand 2011” on the label.
Day 1
The aroma is quite fruity. The flavors are well balanced and smooth, running not to sweet or dry. Maybe it’s best described as medium dry. The taste is almost flowery. In the citrus family, grapefruit comes through most of all.
Day 2
It’s more than tart than sweet on day 2 though still enjoyable.
Being fans of NZ white wines, we’d definitely check this wine out again especially at the comparatively low price of $9.99 at Bay River Liquor Store in Brooklyn.
