The second beer of the month is much more pleasant than the lager. It has a great lingering bitter finish. Some stouts can taste like the consumption of an entire loaf of bread. The Moerlein FIS is pleasantly light. The head is very minimal. It’s almost like Stout 101. Not too bitter or heavy. Coffee and chocolate flavors are apparent but not too aggressive. Stout snobs will not like this much but highly recommended for stout newbies.
