Alleycat Amber Ale Review (Lost Coast Brewing, 5.5% ABV)

Alleycat Amber Ale

This beer was another from my brother’s Beer of the Month club. The last experience wasn’t great but it’s a new day and a new beer. Alleycat Amber Ale comes from Lost Coast Brewing in Eureka, CA. This is a respectable ale. It pours a thin head and a medium amber tone. The aroma is somewhat fruity. For an ale, it’s not super heavy. It feels odd to say, but this might qualify as “medium bodied.” The flavor is strongly malty with a lingering finish. The malt is balanced out nicely with a welcome hoppiness. It’s not a complicated beer but it is an accessible version of an ale and that’s not a bad thing. I’d definitely check out more beers from Lost Coast. Score one for beer of the month.

Here are two other opinions on this beer.
