This Good Karma Protein + Flax Milk was purchased at LifeThyme Health Market on sale for $3.99. It’s explicitly labeled lactose free, gluten free, tree nut free and soy free. The drink is is also fortified with 5g protein (from peas), B12, Calcium and Vitamin D which puts in on par with most forms of milk. The advantage of flax however is that it provides a vegetarian way to get fatty acids like Omega 3, 6 and 9 which may help decrease risk of stroke.

Flax milk most closely reminds me of soy milk in terms of texture and flavor. It’s creamy and smooth without the chalkiness found in some non-dairy milks. It’s a touch off-white and a little thicker than 2% dairy milk. The pea protein has no affect on the flavor. The milk worked as a fine alternative in smoothies and with cereal.
