Superbowl Sunday Provisions

Happy Superbowl Sunday or as Stephen Colbert calls it “Superb Owl Sunday.” Today the Seattle Seahawks and their young QB Russell Wilson take on the Denver Broncos and future hall of famer Peyton Manning. With the top defense (Seattle) taking on the top offense (Denver), here’s to an exciting game. I don’t have specific allegiance to either team, but Peyton went to my alma mater, UTK so that’s my choice. Who are you going for?

As part of the mandatory food festivities we’re having gluten free pizza, guacamole, mozzarella sticks, Atomic Wings and home-made refried black beans (If successful I’ll post the recipe tomorrow).  What are your go-to Superbowl foods?

  1. Making myself to take to party: Greek turkey meatballs filled with onion and parsley and served with tzaziki. Curried deviled eggs.
Ordering. Wings from Wing Wagon on Flatbush.
Would love a health(ier)y refried bean recipe.

    • Turkey meatballs? That sounds amazing. By the way, I wasn’t too happy with the price increases at Atomic Wings. How is Wing Wagon? Thanks for the comment! Hope you’re doing well.

      • I made the turkey like Greek style shieftalies, usually pork. Just add a ton of chopped parsley and onions with some salt and pepper and fry up. Serve with tzaziki. Wing wagon is great but even their prices are up. Popularity of wings has driven their costs past chicken breast.

      • Hmm I’ll have to give these a try. I like tzaziki sauce. Thanks for the review of Wing Wagon by the way. I’ll have to give Wing Wagon a try. Cheers.
