What is your favorite holiday movie? The Jimmy Stewart classic, It’s a Wonderful Life? Or perhaps the zany Griswolds in a Christmas Vacation? It’s hard to choose but my favorite is probably “a Christmas Story” about 9 year old Ralphie’s dream of owning a Red Rider BB gun despite warnings that he’ll shoot his eye out.
One of the benefits of working for yourself is that you can set your own hours. The last few days we’ve taken a break in the late afternoon for at home matinees. As part of said matinees treats include but are not limited to hot chocolate, gingerbread cookies and Hershey’s mint chocolate kisses.
Yesterday we watched Prancer. It’s about a young girl who helps nurse an injured reindeer, who she believes to be the prancer. In doing so, she brings the whole town together. 1989 film is heart warming and funny and to quote Roger Ebert “The best thing about “Prancer” is that it doesn’t insult anyone’s intelligence. Smaller kids will identify with Jessica’s fierce resolve to get Prancer back into action, and older viewers will appreciate the fact that the movie takes place in an approximation of the real world.” What are some of your favorite holidays treats and dishes?
