I wanted to share a bit of good news: A poem tribute to one of my favorite restaurants, Milan’s got published in Alimentum Journal here (at the bottom of the page, under my name, Raj) as part of National Poetry Month (April)!
I also have some bad news: Milan’s Restaurant is now up for sale. So if you’re in the New York / Brooklyn area please stop by for a meal. It’s not vegan or gluten free friendly restaurant but it does have amazing Central European / Slovakian/Czech/Polish/Hungarian comfort food. Here are a two posts I did on the restaurant.

Don’t take your favorite restaurants for granted. Instead of supporting chains, consider patronizing an independent business.

Congrats!! And sorry about those news. That sucks…
Thanks Oliver. Hopefully the owner can turn things around.
Good job!! And true, agreed about taking our fave restaurants for granted. Will check out your poem now ❤
Thanks so much for the encouragement. Cheers!
Congrats on the poem 🙂 Though I’m sorry you for your bad news. Yes to supporting independent non-chain spots. One of my pet peeves is folks only dining out at chains–there is so much better food to be had! Am sure Milan’s was amazing.
Thanks Liz. Yeah, one of the other great things about supporting local businesses more often is it keeps money in the community. Thanks for the comment.
