DoCo Coffee Company
If you’re on the way to the Jersey Shore this summer and have a hankering for a sweet, DoCo, the Donut and Coffee company in Farmingdale I can highly recommend. It’s situated off Rte 33/34 in a small building with a red and black front door. The interior features a red, black and white motif also found in the logo.
They offer a rotating selection of donut flavors including peanut butter chip, cinnamon sugar, cherry graham and the one I selected, Toffee with Salted Caramel. Unlike most gourmet donut shops, they only cost around $1.25/piece. The other incentive to check out DoCo is that they can turn any of their donuts into cronuts ($3.50). You know that combo of croissant and donut that sounded tasty but you didn’t want to wait in line for? Guess what? There was no line here and you can see them make it before your eyes. The cronut was delicious warm with the toffee and caramel melting nicely. The croissant gave a nice salty contrast to the toffee. This is a great place radically different than Dunkin Donuts that clearly knows what they’re good at it.
